Root Canal

When decay progresses deep into the nerve it can kill off the tooth and thus require a root canal (see symptom checker). Some patients have a phobia that root canals are a painful experience. Fortunately, our dentists are able to use techniques to fully numb the tooth allowing the procedure to be pain free.

The bacteria and infection is cleaned out from inside of the root. Once clean, the root is then filled with rubber and a provisional filling is place over the top. Once treated, all the pain previously caused by the tooth being infected usually goes away very quickly, allowing normal function to return.
