Prices for NHS and Private Dental Treatments

Free NHS dentistry for:

• Children under 18
• Pregnant Mothers
• Those on Maternity Benefit (mothers are entitled to free treatment up to 1 year after baby is born)
• Income Support
• Job Seekers Allowance
• Working Tax Credit
• Pension Credit

For all other dental patients NHS prices as of 1st April 2009 are as follows:

Band 1 - £16.50

This course of treatment includes an examination, diagnosis (e.g. x-rays), advice on how to prevent future problems, and a scale and polish if needed.

Band 2 - £45.60

This includes everything listed in Band 1 plus any further treatment such as fillings or teeth extractions.

Band 3 - £198.00

This covers everything listed in Bands 1 and 2 above, plus crowns or new dentures .

Urgent Appointment - £16.50

If you require urgent care, but your urgent treatment needs more than one appointment to complete, you will only need to pay one charge of £16.20.
